Rain, Rain... GO AWAY!!!

I am sitting at home getting caught up on Blog Posts, Editing and Laundry. While everyone needs a catch up day, I would much rather be out shooting sessions for my fantastic clients. I have come to grips with the fact that I cannot control the weather BUT REALLY... all this rain, is not making anyone happy, therefore I would repectfully request, for it stop raining during my prized daylight hours. Thank you ahead of time for listening... (this is an example of Anna's positive thinking).

In the mean time... enjoy the new photos.

Cora... 9 Month Session

The saying "time flies when you are having fun" certainly applies here... I cannot believe that Cora is 9 Months already! She likes to choose her own pose, by sitting sideways and sometimes backwards in the chairs.

This happy family lives on a farm... and they have horses. So, I had this great idea... everyone that knows me, can tell you that I always have great ideas... some work and some not so much... but I continue to keep trying.

Well, for Cora I had this wonderful idea, to incorporate a horse in her photo shoot, by placing her in a old wash tub and then to have the horse come over and check her out. We had a number of variables here... weather, baby and a horse. So check out the result...

Worked out to be an AWESOME idea... this is the type of photo that keeps me motived to come up with new ideas and not to be afraid try them out. Thanks Cora for being such a peach about this idea.

These two little beauties are sisters and best friends. We had two different session ideas and since we could decide on which session to do, we did BOTH! I love to watch how excited the girls get when they get to play dress up with the props. Thankfully they both wanted different colors and accessories. One of them wants to be a model and the other enjoys being naturally shy... See if you guess who is who?

This gorgeous little girl happens to be the daughter of my best friend. She had a blast playing dress up with Aunt Anna's photo props. To top the night off, she decided to have a tea party with Mr. Bear... Cheers Baylin!

What To Wear? September Edition

One of the most frequent questions we are asked is... "What should we wear to our photo shoot?"

Our photography style is more relaxed and stylized, therefore we recommend your outfits allow for creativity, flexibly and individual personality. "Matching" outfits is quite different than "Coordinating" outfits. Matching outfits can make everyone look the same and sort of "lumps" people together in a image. Coordinating outfits shows everyone is clearly together yet each person is a unique part of the image.

Below you see an image that will give you a visual of coordinated wardrobe for a fall family photo shoot.

Baby Joshua

This handsome fellow is named Joshua, and he is sure to be a sports star. On this day he made it clear that he liked baseball better than football. When we attempted any photos using football props, he was not having it! Maybe that is because he did not want the props, he wants the real deal. Don't worry Joshua... football season is right around the corner. He is a sweet little guy full of "I got a secret" smiles...

Brooke's Senior Session #1

This is Brooke... When we sat down to discuss her Senior Session, we have so many great ideas that we had to break it up between 3 separate shoots. So make sure you check back for her images from Session 2 and Session 3.

Session #1... Time just flew by, we had a blast as she made our job look easy with her natural beauty, sassy smiles and willingness to try different poses... even the ones that require LOTS of balance. It is a good thing that she is a Cheerleader and use to balancing acts.

Harley... Race Against The Rain Shoot

This beauty is 27 months old... We could not decided on which outfit\prop combination that we wanted to go with, so it became a race on how many we could do before it rained. The outfits and props you see in these photos, belong to us, and we allow our clients to use them during photo shoots for something different and fun... Harley certainly enjoyed them.

The first outfit took a little time coaxing her to wear the headband, so she went for the shy, quiet look until we had her yell " MeMatt" (which is what she calls Matt) and she thinks it is soooo funny.

The next outfit was the "Fairy Princess" and she was THRILLED with it. Harley spread her wings and went flying across the yard, waving her wand, like she was born to it. Then she decided it would be more fun if she raced Mommy. Everything was going great and then the rain started...

We took a break until the rain stopped. Harley had a snack and then changed outfits for a "Puddle Shoot". Now, she was really in her glory... Harley LOVES to stomp in puddles, even if she is not dressed for it.

She is a sweet little girl and I just love her to pieces...

Micah... aka "Pea-Pod Baby"

This handsome little fellow is is growing up so fast... 18 Months already! He is best know for his photographic appearance in the "Pea Pod Coccon" shoot. We decided to go back in time, as these images have a vintage feel including his Great-Great Grandfather's hat.

This little cutie is 5 months old... time sure flies when you having fun. I don't know who was laughing and giggling more, Haylie or myself because her parents are just so funny. Haylie, you are a lucky little girl... well come to think of it... your parents are blessed too, to have such a angel.

A Smokin' Hot Boudoir Session

This past Saturday we shot a fantastic Boudoir Session... OUTSIDE! Our client (whom will remain a mystery for the next couple of months) wants to surprise her husband for their anniversary with a very special gift.

It was early evening, the temperature is in the 90's, we shot for almost 3 hours with a number of outfit changes. The heat did not seem bother her as she moved from one pose to another, with sultry smiles and tempting looks galore... I think she may be an undercover Super Model. The images are full of her beauty, romantic scenery and we used few of her husband's personal effects as props to make him feel even more connected to the images (I think he will be so entranced by her, it will take him a long while to notice his effects in the photos). He is certainly one lucky man...

Little Lady in Lavender

This little beauty is 5 months old and is full of smiles and mischief. She is a born model and we had a typical Diva-Style-Start. She soon warmed up to the idea and flashed smile after smile and was full of giggles galore. It is hard work being a model, and she promptly went to sleep. Shhhhh... don't tell her but we made her work right through her nap.

Lady Liberty...

Every July Fourth, for the past 40 to 50 years (depends on who you talk to) the DooDah parade makes its way through the town of Lewes, Delaware. Red, White & Blue... Proud Americans celebrating our liberty. Flags are waving, musicians are playing and "Happy 4th" shout-outs everywhere. Second street is full of jubilant folks, smiling and waving, watching for the one of the highlights in the parade... Lady Liberty.

Lady Liberty has been holding her torch high and waving to the crowds for almost 30 years. Lady Liberty holds a special place in my heart, not only for what she represents to Americans, because she is my mom. My eyes fill with tears at the pride I see in her face as she holds her torch high, her heart is full of goodness. Just like Lady Liberty, she opens her arms to so many that she helps so selflessly. I have seen her do without time and time again, to help someone in need. She sees the good in everyone, with a positive attitude that is never failing. I have had people tell me that they can tell I am Kathy's daughter, which is the greatest compliment that I could be given. In truth, I wish that I could be just half of the person she is...

Mom, I am so very proud of you. Here's to you... Our Lady Liberty!

Welcome to the new blog...

Greetings!

I would like to officially welcome you to the new Snapd Shotz Photography Blog! The website will be unveiled at the beginning of next week and I am SUPER EXCITED!!!

All images captured before July 1, 2011 will be found on the website. Moving forward... all images after July 1, 2011 will be posted on the blog for your viewing pleasure.

The office is almost done... YEAH!!! This has been a long process... and it is so nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you all for your patience and we will be hosting an open house as soon as the furniture arrives… hint, hint to Matt (who is making everything but the couch).
